An authentic and dynamic musician, Alexandra S. has been recognized for her stage presence and warm, spinning tone. Hailing from the Hudson Valley, Alexandra moved to New York City in the fall of 2016 and performs regularly throughout the area. Her musicality and multifaceted training have shaped her into a compelling performer who feels at home both on the stage and in the recital hall. A versatile soprano, she is accomplished in repertoire ranging from baroque to Mozart to new music.

 Although she loves the rich history of opera, Alexandra has found a true excitement and connection in the performance of the voices of our time. Within this realm she is an active member and soprano soloist of C4, a collective whose purpose is to shine a light on choral music written within the last 25 years. Other new works performed this season include David Lang’s The Mile Long Operaand Francis Pollock’s Stinney: An American Execution.    

Alexandra made her professional debut with the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra for their 2012 performance of Mahler’s 4th Symphony. Roles performed include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), Amy March (Little Women), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Baby Doe (The Ballad of Baby Doe), and Persephone (La Descente d’Orphée aux enfers), among others.
