Andre G.

Recognized internationally as an emerging musical talent, Brazilian pianist André G. has given professional recitals in the United States, Europe and South America. He has been lauded for his “impeccable pianism… stunning musical poetry,” and for his “brilliant… electrifying” performances.

The recipient of many awards and scholarships, Andre has enjoyed an active career as a performing artist and a teacher. Recent engagements include an interdisciplinary lecture-recital called Music to Put Out Fires, dedicated to Brazil’s National Museum and held in Porto Alegre’s Theatro São Pedro, an all-Debussy recital at the Cathédrale Saint- Croix de Paris des Arméniens in Paris, and a performance at the launch of the art installation project Keys of Light at the City of London’s Guildhall Yard.

Additionally, Andre is an active scholar and translator. He has taught lecture-recital courses on the music of Debussy, Ravel, and Beethoven at Florida State University’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and his liner notes for the albums Beyond the Sound (2019) and Conversa (2021), both released by Albany Records, have garnered outstanding reviews.

Andre earned his Doctorate in Piano Performance at the nationally distinguished Florida State University College of Music, where he studied with Heidi Louise Williams. He received his Master’s Performance degree at the Mannes School of Music in New York City under the tutelage of Arkady Aronov, and completed his Bachelor of Music Performance degree at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul – Institute of the Arts, a premier music conservatory in Brazil, where he studied with Ney Fialkow. Andre pursued additional private studies with Paul Roberts at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in London, and Ann Schein at the Mannes School of Music, in New York.
