Bio

Bella B. is a pianist from Chicago, Illinois, currently attending Columbia University and studying with Inesa Sinkevych, co-head of the piano department at Manhattan School of Music. At Columbia, Bella is a part of the Music Performance Program and is majoring in music and medical humanities. She began learning piano at age 5 with Olga Ridgway, became an associate of the UK Royal Academy of Music at age 15, and pursued her musical studies further throughout high school at Alice S. Pfaelzer Conservatory at the Merit School of Music. Bella has performed at venues throughout Illinois, such as the Harris Theater, Harold Washington Library, and PianoForte, and throughout New York, including Carnegie Hall and the Kaufman Music Center. She has additionally performed nationally and internationally at the Philadelphia Young Pianists’ Academy, Amalfi Coast Music and Arts Festival, the Gijón International Piano Festival, the Cremona International Music Academy and Festival, Pianists in the Mountains, the Zodiac Music Academy and Festival in France, the Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Intermuse International Music Institute and Festival, the Orfeo Music Festival in Italy and the American Fine Arts Festival in Telavi, Georgia. During COVID she participated in such virtual events as DanceVision 2020: The Music of Black Voices with Ballet Chicago, and the Musicians for Equality Ambassador Concert. In addition to working as a piano teacher, accompanist, and theory tutor, she volunteers at local public schools through the Musical Mentors Collaborative and Artists Reaching Out.
