Candice is an engaging and enthusiastic instructor with extensive and varied experience teaching students of all ages. She provides instruction in Voice, Beginner Guitar, Composition, and Songwriting.
Bio
Candice W. is a Chinese-American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from San Francisco. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Creative Musicianship back in 2020 at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London and has recently graduated with a Master of Music in Songwriting from New York University in May of 2024. She writes and performs music in the veins of Pop, R&B, Soul, Folk, Indie, Jazz, and Modern Classical.
She has received extensive vocal training through choral and contemporary vocal instruction. In the Spring of 2023 and 2024, she successfully co-directed Vocal and Songwriting collaboration concerts at NYU. In 2022, she was an artist-in-residence at The Mudhouse Residency in Agios Ioannis, Crete, Greece. Additionally, she is attending the STS9 and Music Masters Collective’s 2024 Camp Elsewhere in Big Indian, NY as a songwriting and performance artist through a Retreat to Music sponsorship.
With a focus on the individual, her teaching style aims to foster a passion for creative expression while building the needed foundations and techniques to support. Her interactive and inclusive teaching also reflects the beautiful people, experiences, and memories she has experienced through her travels, taking shape in her music and approach to sound.
