Bio

Carly is from green & sunny Gainesville, FL (Go Gators!), & now happily considers herself a New Yorker. She is very close with her family, hometown friends and pitbull (Tater) so she takes every opportunity she can to visit them and sneak in a beach trip while she’s there!

Carly has always considered singing her second language, she is a huge advocate for mental health and structures her teaching philosophy around mindfulness and creating a safe space for her students. Carly’s studio focuses on efficient, sustainable and joyful singing! Carly strives to cultivate an inclusive, engaging, challenging, spontaneous but structured studio environment where every action is lead with love and passion. Kindness is required.

During her four years at The Atlantic Acting School, Carly was introduced to both Linklater and Fitzmaurice Voicework. She often incorporates techniques from these methodologies in her own practice and teaching to strengthen the connection between voice, body and mind. Carly ascribes to a speech driven approach to belting (via Mary Saunders Barton) and strongly believes in the importance of cross-training the voice. In lessons, you’ll explore what it feels like to step out of your “singing comfort zone.”
