Having received substantial training in both piano performance and piano pedagogy, Cindy has been teaching at collegiate levels as well as in private studios since 2008. These experiences have allowed her to gain insight into the musical development of students of varying skill levels. Cindy individualizes her teaching approach in accordance with each student’s aptitude, based on the belief that everyone possesses hidden potential. It is her goal to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of music and independent learning skills in students that enable them to find their unique voice as a pianist.
A New York based classical pianist, Cindy has performed as a soloist and chamber musician for audiences throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. She is a top prize laureate in competitions including Concours Ile-de-France (France), Concours Musical de France (France), Artist Presentation Society Audition (USA), Paderewski International Competition (USA), Krystian Tkaczewski International Piano Competition (Poland), Bradshaw & Buono International Competition (USA) and New York Piano Festival & Competition, among many others. She was awarded “Chopin Special Prize” from the Association of Polish Artists Musicians in France, and “Debussy Special Prize” from Metropolitan International Piano Competition and IBLA Foundation. These honors have led her to perform in distinguished venues such as Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall (New York), Viennese Hall (Salzburg), National Centre for the Performing Arts (Beijing), Beijing Concert Hall, Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, and Shanghai Symphony Hall, to name a few. She has been the featured pianist in concert tours across Taiwan and has also toured the United States as a winner of the IBLA Grand Prize.
As a passionate chamber musician and collaborative pianist, she has performed in festivals including Pablo Casals Chamber Music Festival, Musical Odyssey and Shanghai Chamber Music Festival. The breadth of her performance experience has deepened her passion for sharing music and become an asset to her teaching.
