- A passionate educator, Drew has given lessons to students of all age levels and experience, in both individual and group settings.
Drew is a horn player and teacher currently based in New York City. A former member of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra in Braintree, Massachusetts, he has performed with various ensembles across the country including the New World Symphony and Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He holds degrees from Northwestern University as a student of Gail Williams and Jon Boen, and the New England Conservatory as a student of James Sommerville, from which he graduated with academic honors. A proponent of historically informed early music performance, Drew is equally comfortable on natural and baroque horns as he is on modern. He has performed alongside members of the Newberry Consort, a Chicago based early music ensemble, and received a scholarship in 2019 from Early Music America to further his study of the natural horn. He can be heard with the National Orchestral Institute Philharmonic’s debut album on the Naxos label as part of their American Classics Series. As a teacher, he takes pride in his personal attention to students and their unique needs and aspirations, and enjoys sharing his love of music with others.
