Elizabeth H. has just graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a dual degree of Bachelors of Science in classical piano performance and Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Prior to that, she attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan where she graduated from the vocal program. Her passion for music sparked at a very young age and she began her classical piano training at age 7 and vocal training at age 14. She has passed level 8 of the ABRSM Piano Exams, level 6 of the NYSSMA Piano Exams, level 6 of the NYSSMA Vocal Exams and level 5 of the ABRSM Music Theory Exam.
Besides classical piano, Elizabeth loves to sing as well, having been featured as a soloist in many jazz ensembles during her time at SUNY New Paltz. She has experience writing her own music, recording music and performing at different venues in New Paltz as well as NYC with her band Baby Carrots in her spare time. She is also passionate about music of other cultures, and is currently learning to play the traditional Chinese string instrument called guzheng. She hopes to bring this versatility into her teaching as well, encouraging exploration and inquisition within learning music.
