Experience
Elsa has experience teaching private voice lessons to students ages 8 through adulthood, as well as experience as an elementary music and theatre teacher for grades Pre-K through 6th grade.
Her teaching philosophy centers on vocal pedagogy and mindful technique—understanding the voice as an instrument is essential to mastering it. Elsa guides students through healthy vocal production while emphasizing the theatrical and emotional elements of singing. Students are encouraged to explore not only how to sing, but why they sing, connecting technique, text, and storytelling to develop confident, expressive performers.
She is passionate about helping students build strong technical foundations, artistic authenticity, and a lifelong love for singing in a supportive and engaging environment.
Bio
Elsa M. is an award-winning soprano and voice teacher based in New York City, specializing in classical, musical theatre, pop/rock, and jazz styles. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Voice with a minor in Theatre from the University of New Mexico, where she developed a strong foundation in vocal performance, pedagogy, and dramatic storytelling.
Elsa’s performance background includes choral singing, opera, musical theatre, and cabaret-style productions, bringing versatility and real-world experience into her teaching.
