Erin L. is a New York based oboist and educator. She has performed with ensembles across the country and abroad including the Charleston Symphony, Spoleto Festival USA, Klangspuren Ensemble Modern Academy in Austria, as a sub on Broadway, and performs with many orchestras and chamber ensembles in and around New York City. An advocate of new music, Erin has performed with Ensemble Signal, Ensemble Mise-en, Contemporaneous, Ossia, and has worked with composers to premiere new works for oboe.
Erin has also performed with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, and can be heard on numerous recordings with the North Texas Wind Symphony on the GIA Windworks label and the “Teaching Music through Performance in Band” series. Erin is a founding member and Co-Executive Director of the Maryland Wind Festival in Frederick, Maryland, where she performs wind chamber music and leads chamber music workshops for middle school and high school students during the summer.
Erin maintained a teaching studio in the Dallas-Fort Worth of students of all ages, and taught oboe to undergraduates from the University of Rochester as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Eastman School of Music. Erin teaches oboe and English horn in New York City and also teaches beginning piano and saxophone lessons, having studied piano from an early age and played alto saxophone while at the University of North Texas.
Erin received her BM in Performance from the University of North Texas in 2013, and her MM in Performance and Literature with an Arts Leadership Certificate at the Eastman School of Music in 2015. Her principal teachers include Richard Killmer, James Ryon, and Charles Veazey.
