In addition to teaching privately for over seven years, Evan has also worked as a Chamber Instructor for the IU Summer Academy and an assistant teacher for the Fairview Elementary Violin program.

Evan R. earned his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and his Masters of Music from McGill University where he taught as a Graduate Instructor. He now pursues an active teaching and chamber music performance career in New York City and is currently a Teaching Artist for the Noel Pointer Foundation.
Evan has appeared twice at Carnegie Hall as a member of the New York String Orchestra Seminar under Maestro Jaime Laredo. He has performed as principal of the McGill Symphony Orchestra and the Indiana University Philharmonic, Concert, and Baroque Orchestras under distinguished conductors such as Carl St.Clair, David Effron, Daniel Boico, and Paul Nadler. He was also a semi-finalist in the Golden Violin Competition, which awards Canada’s largest collegiate music prize. An avid chamber musician, Evan has appeared in concert with notable performers such as Jinjoo Cho, Elizabeth Dolin, Jorja Fleezanis, Laurence Kayaleh, Eric Kim, Paul Marleyn, Douglas McNabney, and Axel Strauss.
As a member of the Milton String Quartet, Evan won the 2016 McGill Chamber Competition and later the Senior String Division Gold Medal and Grand Prize at the 2017 Fischoff National Chamber Competition. Evan has worked with members of today’s most preeminent chamber ensembles such as theAlban Berg, Ébène, Escher, Hagen, Jupiter, and Tokyo Quartets, along with notable artists such as Jinjoo Cho, Kim Kashkashian, and Wolfgang Redik. Evan has appeared on CBC Music’s lists of 30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30and Montreal’s 10 emerging acts to watch.
