Gokce E. was born in Istanbul, Turkey. She developed a strong interest in music at a very early age when she started to learn the piano. After finishing primary school in 1994, Gokce continued her studies at I.T.U. Turkish State Musical Conservatory. The following year she auditioned to study classical music at Istanbul University State Conservatory and was accepted to study violin with Venyamin Warshavsky. Gokce received her Master of Music degree, cum laude, from Istanbul University State Conservatory in June 2011, studying with Venyamin Varsavsky.

A current resident of New York City, Gokce graduated from New York University – Steinhardt School in May 2014 , studying with Prof. Kikuei Ikeda with a scholarship in the performance program for an Advanced Certificate Diploma. She gives concerts with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra (as Principal Second Violin) , NYU – Steinhardt Symphony Orchestra as Concertmaster (2012-2014), One World Symphony (as Principal Second Violin), Chelsea Symphony Orchestra, Kamerata NY, Astoria Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble 212, New York Chamber Players and Metro Chamber Orchestra. She has performed with Tony-award-winner John Lloyd Young (“Jersey Boys”) at Café Carlyle where she played in a series of concerts with musician/producer Tommy Faragher. She is one of the most sought-after violinists in the NYC music scene. She performed in National Television (NBC) shows such as ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘Late night with Jimmy Fallon’  also subbing in Broadway shows. She is the second violinist with her newly formed quartet, Gaia Quartet. She is also an active teacher in the NYC area. For 2 years she has been teaching at NYU Steinhardt as an adjunct professor. She is currently getting ready for violin competitions and auditions around NYC.
