Guy is an experienced educator who spent several years in his home country of Israel working as part of a social project entitled ‘Sulamot’, designed to bring musical education to children of all ages in low-income areas. Guy teaches students of all levels, from beginners with no former education in piano/music, to musicians looking for prep-work for college auditions in a wide range of genres, specializing in Jazz, Classical and Pop.
Guy M. (born August 1st 1996) is a rising Jazz pianist and composer from Israel, currently residing in New York City. He is performing regularly on the international Jazz scene, where he is considered a rising star, having played at the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Israel, Beit Ha’Amudim Jazz club, and the Jazz Gallery in New York. He recently received his bachelors degree in Jazz performance from The New School.
Guy began playing classical piano at the age of 9, winning the ‘Al-Derech-HaMelech’ competition in Ashdod in 2007 (1st place) and 2008 (2nd place). He started studying Jazz at age 14, when he attended the prestigious ‘Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts’, and was the recipient of scholarships from the America – Israel Cultural Foundation. He later received an ‘Outstanding Musician’ status in the IDF, where he taught several instruments and music theory to children, as well as performing in Israel and Europe.
Guy studied at the Center for Jazz Studies in Tel Aviv between 2014-2016, before being awarded a full-tuition scholarship to study at The New School in New York, where he received his BFA in 2019.
