Experience
Hyewon has been actively involved in the piano education field since 2018, working at numerous piano academies and music schools specializing in entrance exam preparation. With extensive experience, she has provided lessons for students of all ages and skill levels, from hobbyists to music majors. In addition to her teaching career, she has also built a strong portfolio as an accompanist, collaborating with various vocal classes. Currently, she serves as an accompanist at Brooklyn First Church, continuing to expand her expertise in the field.
Bio
Hyewon Y. is a South Korean pianist who graduated with top honors from Kyung Hee University in Seoul, after attending Busan Arts Middle and High School. She later moved to the United States to pursue her Master’s degree at the Mannes College of Music in New York, where she has received numerous merit-based scholarships. A distinguished performer, Hyewon won second prize at the 11th Mendelssohn International Piano Competition and was a finalist in the 2024 George and Elizabeth Gregory Concerto Competition. She has participated in numerous Mannes Sound Festival concerts and collaborated with contemporary composers on their piano works.
