Isla began teaching beginner through advanced trombone and drum set during graduate school and since graduating she has been teaching beginner level piano. She is passionate about teaching and loves all styles of music. Isla loves to find what makes each student excited to learn!
Bio
Isla B. is a professional trombone player and drummer based in New York City. She specializes in jazz but is experienced with many genres of popular and classical music. Originally from Blue Hill, Maine, she earned her bachelor’s degree in music performance (trombone) from the University of Southern Maine in May of 2022. In May of 2024 she received her Master of Music in Jazz Performance (trombone) from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. During her studies she learned the basics of piano technique and jazz piano in addition to rigorous study of her primary instrument, trombone, and secondary instrument, drums.
