Bio
Born in Yilan, Taiwan, Jack H. is a rising percussionist and jazz
musician based in New York. He began his classical percussion training at the
age of 9, and majored in percussion performance in the Taipei University of Arts
under the tutelage of Kuen-Yean Hwang. After discovering his passion for jazz
music, he started playing jazz piano and vibraphone outside of school and
performed at various venues in Taipei, including with Taiwanese singer 9m88. In
2022, he moved to New York City to pursue his passion in jazz performance at
the Manhattan School of Music on scholarship studying with Joel Ross, Marc
Cary, Jaleel Shaw and Patricia Brennan. Jack graduated with a master in jazz in May
2024. An active performer, Jack made his appearances at the Jazz at Lincoln
Center Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Smalls Jazz Club, Winnie’s Jazz Bar, and Miho
Hazama’s band in the Winter Jazzfest in New York City. Jack’s music is a fusion
of jazz, RnB, hip hop, soul, and gospel.
