Bio
James is a creative trumpet player with jazz as his backbone. Born to a large family of musicians, he started playing piano when he was 5 and trumpet at 8. After receiving his BA in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in 2015, he joined the luxury ocean liner Queen Mary 2 and embarked on a cruise ship career spanning five years. Playing nightly in both theatre and ballroom settings offered invaluable experience and skills needed to be a capable and versatile trumpet player in today’s competitive industry. He moved to NYC in 2021 to put these skills to use and has played as a sideman at notable venues in the city including Birdland, Sony Hall, and Smalls.
Currently James is both teaching and working in the studio on some exciting new projects both collaborative and original. He worked as a remote session player in between cruise ship contracts and is now building his clientele here in the big city.
