Julian has many years of performance and teaching experience on saxophone, clarinet, and flute and he loves working with children aged K-12 as well as adults–– some of his best students have been retired adults who are getting back into playing. He has also maintained weekly lessons with students beginning in elementary school and carrying through high school! Historically, his students have performed extremely well, including excelling in state-wide competitions and placing in top chairs in honors ensembles. His debut record of all original composition for jazz septet, The Deep Light, will be available in late spring 2018. Julian has studied saxophone with Gary Thomas (former sideman to Miles Davis), flute with Lori Kesner and Lisa Cella, and clarinet with Richard Spece.
