Justin has been performing professionally in musical theatre for the past 4 years. He has been heavily involved in music and theatrics since he was 6 years old. He has been teaching voice privately for 5 years across Asheville, NC, Orlando, FL, and now in New York City. He has experience in choral directing and section leadership in a professional and classroom choral setting. Justin has taught music to at-risk youth in Raleigh, NC with the El Sistema program “Kidznotes”.
Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in voice and a minor in Musical Theatre performance.
Justin’s theatrical career expands a wide range of roles. He last appeared singing on the castle stage at the Walt Disney World resort along side Mickey Mouse and could also be found in the ensemble of Finding Nemo: the Musical and Hoop Dee Doo: Musical revue. Justin appeared in Jimmy Fallon’s Ragtime Gals barbershop quintet for NBC Universal. He also appeared as a “Who” in Grinchmas: a Wholiday Spectacular in Universal Studios Orlando. After graduating UNC Charlotte, Justin was invited back to the university as an alumni guest artist to play the title role in It’s a bird.. It’s a plane.. It’s Superman as Clark Kent/Superman. During his senior year, Justin was selected by audition to attend the American Theatre Wing’s SpringboardNYC intensive at the Manhattan Theater Club in New York City where he was trained by industry professionals in vocal performance, acting, and dance. While attending SpringboardNYC, Justin was able to work with Christian Borle, Jack O’Brian, and Moritz von Stupnagel, along with others, and he was able attend the 2015 Tony Awards. While at UNC Charlotte, Justin has trained with the Broadway Dreams foundation where he worked with Titus Burgess and other teaching artists. Other favorite roles include Sid Sorokin in The Pajama Game, Billy Flynn in Chicago, Jasper B. Biggley in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Selsdon Mobray in Noises Off. Some of Justin’s television and commercial credits include commercials for Lexington Medical center in Columbia, South Carolina and Roeder Orthodontics in Asheville, North Carolina. Justin has a “never stop learning” teaching methodology that meets students on a personal level providing musical and theatrical coaching, direction, and professional insight that meet the individual goals and needs of every student. He is thrilled to be a part of the Music To Your Home team.
Justin was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a minor in Musical Theatre from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and resides in Harlem, New York.
