Kate is a singer, actor and teacher who has dedicated her life to creating beauty in the world both as a performer and as a teacher. She is committed to helping her students realize their musical potential and she is thrilled to be teaching with Music To Your Home.

Originally from Ohio, Kate moved to this great city in 2016 to pursue graduate studies at New York University. She has been making music as long as she can remember. Her first grade school teacher gave her the nickname, “hummingbird,” because of her incessant, inadvertent humming and singing in class. At age eight she asked her parents to enroll her in piano lessons and in the fifth grade she performed in her first musical. Since then she has performed in many musicals and plays, with her favorite roles being Cinderella in Into the Woods, and Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She also has significant experience singing with choirs and as a soloist on many occasions. Most recently, Kate performed as the soprano soloist with the NYU Contemporary Ensemble in the premiere of composer Stephan Casellas’ work River of Grass. As a member of that same ensemble she performed Steve Reich’s Music For 18 Musicians and Tehilim.
