Experience
Having recently completed my Master’s at Manhattan School of Music in New York, I have been teaching voice, piano, and music theory privately for over 6 years. My students have ranged from beginners to advanced performers, from young children to adults, and have included individuals with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. I aim to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment where every student can grow both technically and artistically. My teaching style focuses on building a strong foundation in vocal or instrumental technique while encouraging musical expression and personal connection to the repertoire. I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals—whether that’s preparing for conservatory auditions, improving musicianship, or simply exploring the joy of music. Throughout my career, I have performed in opera, concerts, and recitals across Europe and the U.S., and I draw on that stage experience in my teaching. I’ve coached students into top conservatories, including a piano student who placed 2nd at the Prague Conservatory, a blind theory student who earned 1st place with full marks at Deyls Conservatory in Prague, multiple successful admissions to Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität in Vienna, and a classical singing student who placed 3rd at the Prague Conservatory. My background in piano and violin supports a comprehensive musical approach, and I’m always eager to share what I’ve learned to help each student build confidence and find their own path in music.
Bio
Konstantin J. was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic, into a family with deep Russian roots and a strong musical heritage. He is a versatile and accomplished musician and vocalist with significant professional experience across Europe and the United States. Konstantin has performed on numerous prestigious stages, including Suk Hall—part of the Czech Philharmonic—in Prague, the Theater of Mariánské Lázně, the Silesian Opera in Bytom, Poland, as well as venues in New Jersey and Manhattan, New York. His performances have been praised for their technical proficiency and expressive depth. He is also fluent in five languages, which enhances his ability to interpret a broad and diverse operatic repertoire. His professional foundation is supported by rigorous education and training.
Konstantin began his formal music education at the age of six at the Gymnázium a Hudební škola hlavního města Praha, specializing in piano and violin. He graduated from the Prague Conservatory in 2015 as a pianist, earning several awards and performing in notable venues such as the Spanish Hall at Prague Castle and the Smetana Hall. In 2016, Konstantin transitioned to vocal studies, undertaking his bachelor’s degree in Poland under the guidance of Professor Jan Ballarin, renowned for mentoring internationally acclaimed singers like Piotr Beczala. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he refined his vocal technique through intensive coaching with his father over several years before successfully auditioning for the Manhattan School of Music. Konstantin later completed his Master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, studying under the tutelage of Professor Mary Dunleavy.
Konstantin’s artistic upbringing is rooted in a family of musicians—his father was a soloist with the National State Opera Prague, performing on major European stages including the Vienna State Opera, and his mother is a dedicated piano coach at the same institution. This rich familial environment has deeply influenced his musical development and professionalism.
In addition to his vocal and instrumental achievements, Konstantin also has early stage experience in dance, having performed a solo ballet part as a child in the opera Treemonisha at the State Opera Prague. He also walked as a model in a runway show at Brooklyn Fashion Week.
