  • Lucy has been performing and teaching bass for over 10 years. She has taught throughout both schools and privately across Australia and the USA. Lucy provides fun training to students of all ages (as young as 5 and up) styles, and competency levels. She constructs lesson plans with a wide range of musical and communicational approaches to accommodate all styles of learners.


Lucy C. is a bassist, composer and educator from Sydney, Australia. Since receiving her B.A. from Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Jazz Performance (Aus) and her GradDip. in Contemporary Writing and Production from Berklee College of Music (USA), Lucy’s multi-genre bass playing has contributed to her extensive body of work, having performed across the globe with countless artists/venues including the Rise Up As One Festival (Grammy Winning Alejandro Sanz and Jesse & Joy, 2016 USA), Mariza on her US 2017 tour, Ellas Crean Festival (Tonina and Grammy Winning Producer Javier Limon 2017 Spain), SXSW Music Festival (M+E 2016, USA), Edinburgh Jazz Festival & Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival (Alex Silver Quintet, 2012 Scotland & Aus), Reno Jazz Festival (Wollongong Conservatorium of Music Ensemble, 2007 USA), Martinique Jazz Festival (Maher Beauroy, 2016 Martinique), The Gillette Stadium (Amy & the Engine 2015 USA), and BB. Kings Blues Club (Mighty Mystic 2016 NYC) to name a few.
In 2014, Lucy was recognised as a composer, being selected to perform at the Women’s Musician Network Concert for Female Composers at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston. Lucy is also heavily involved in educating younger generations at various musical institutions throughout Australia and the US, most recently selected to be on faculty at the Victor Wooten Bass Camp, held at Berklee College of Music in June 2017. Lucy is currently based in New York City and looks forward to working with students and inspiring others pursuing the bass!
