- Maftuna has taught piano and music theory for all ages and levels. She teaches students to fully understand the music using theory skills and also adding/creating stories for each piece. She explains each step creatively to entertain students and help them remember the rules in different ways. Also, Maftuna encourages students to add their unique music sounds to a piece and at the same time to follow the directions.
Maftuna T. was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. At the age of five, she began piano classes at the prestigious Uspenskiy Music Academy in Uzbekistan. She was privileged to have highly experienced teachers, who were also great musicians. In 2013, she started studying at International School of Manila and had private lessons with Dr. Raul Sunico, Dean of the University of Santo Thomas. She played solo and performed with the orchestra and band in a variety of school assemblies and activities for different audiences including the family of the former President of the Philippines. She also represented the school in the annual Cultural Convention in Malaysia and became a member of the National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. In 2014, she continued her music education at Interlochen Arts Academy where she worked with Dr.Coonrod. To gain more musical skills, she started playing organ. For graduation ceremony, Maftuna was chosen as a Senior Performer of Ceremony. In 2016, she started her undergraduate at Mannes School of Music where she is majoring in Piano Performance. The summer of 2017, she attended Perugia Music Festival where she played piano concerto with Czech Orchestra. In 2018, she participated in Beijing International Music Festival Academy. Also in the summer of 2019 she was invited to participate at International Keyboard Festival in New York with Full Scholarship. Working with different teachers all over the world, Maftuna has gained Russian, Asian and American way of playing and creating music.
