- Maria, bilingual in English and Spanish has also been dedicated to her private studios in Caracas Venezuela, and New York where she enjoys teaching students of all levels. She has over 15 years of experience teaching private and group classes, lessons and workshops for students of all ages and backgrounds. She finds great joy in sharing her love of music to students of all levels and ages, especially to those who share the same passion and love for music as she does.
Bio
Maria C. began playing the violin at age 9. She has since appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in Colombia,Venezuela, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Czech Republic, Vienna, Italy, China, Canada, Taiwan, China, Japan and throughout the United States of America. Maria enjoys performing repertoire of different periods and in diverse styles, ranging from historical performance to contemporary music. She began performing at a very young age displaying talent both as a violinist and pianist. As a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer, she has made appearances in several venues in New York and beyond.
Maria is a piano and violin teacher and a passionate and sensitive musician. She has been praised for her richly colorful tone and poetically refined musicality in both solo and collaborative settings.
Maria received her Master’s degree from The Mannes College of Music, studying with Sally Thomas after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at State University of New York at Purchase and earlier at Simon Bolivar Conservatory in Caracas Venezuela. She was a participant in Aspen Music festival, Mozarteum Festival among others and a student of Itskah Perlman, Zakhar Bron, Elmar Oliveira, Jose Francisco del Castillo.
