Nadav N. was born to a Jewish Israeli family, in Palo-Alto, CA. Shortly after his birth, his family moved back to Haifa, Israel. His family is musical – both his sisters are musicians and his grandmother was a piano teacher.
Musically inclined at an early age, Nadav began his classical education by attending the “Donia – Weizman” conservatory in Haifa. Later, he was recruited to the IDF orchestra as a Trombone player. While he was in his army service, Nadav visited New York for the first time – as a keyboard player for the IDF orchestra, performing at the FIDF’s Gala dinner.
Nadav moved to Brooklyn, NY in July 2015. Since then, Nadav has been involved in the bustling jazz scene, performing in venues such as Smalls Jazz Club, Club Bonafide and Swing 46, while teaching piano to a wide variety of students from different backgrounds. In 2017 he received his BFA with high honors in Jazz Performance at the New-School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Also, Nadav is a student of the Alexander Technique at RIAT initiative and is training to become an amSat certified AT instructor.
Nadav is a dynamic and dedicated music educator with a specialty in Jazz and Swing. His grounded methodical approach is paired with an attention to the student as a unique individual and artist. This allows the learning musicians to cultivate curiosity and focus within themselves. Nadav gives his students a means whereby they actively enrich their own musical upbringing.
