- Nancy works extremely well with students of all levels and ages. Her warm, supportive and encouraging way of teaching motivates her students to cultivate their musical talent. She teaches them how to read music, basic music theory, technique, phrasing and chords. Nancy has been teaching for over 25 years.
Bio
Nancy G. has 25 years of teaching the art of classical guitar. She holds a BA and a Masters Degree in Classical Guitar with Honors from the New School of Music under the guidance of well-known classical guitarist Costas Cotsiolis. She also holds a Masters Degree in Musicology/Fine Arts from Aristotle University in Greece.
She studied the art of voice privately under the guidances of JD Walter, Cynthia Scott, Miles Griffith, Barry Harris and Craig Derry.
In addition to being a teacher, Nancy is also pursuing a career as a professional musician. Her debut record titled “I Wanna Be Your Star” earned a #2 spot on CMJ (College Music Journal) Top Jazz Adds Chart in the USA and in Canada. In November 2021 she will release her solo guitar album with her own compositions. To this day, Nancy remains dedicated to producing quality music. Nancy currently performs with her trio in the NYC area. She has performed at the legendary Birdland, The 55 Bar, Minton’s and the Zinc Bar to name a few.
