- In addition to teaching private students of all ages and levels, Nicole teaches group classes in NYC public schools as a teaching artist for Midori & Friends, ArtsConnection, and the Harmony Program. She also teaches lessons and classes at the JCC Thurnauer School of Music in Tenafly, NJ and has served as a clinician at Ferrwood Music Camp and Pocono Flute Camp. Nicole is trained in the Suzuki Method for flute and has completed Marquis Studios’ Teaching Artist Training Institute for working with students on the autism spectrum.
Flutist Nicole S. made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2014 as First Prize Winner of the International Shining Stars Concerto Competition. According to the Epoch Times, “Nicole played with a beautiful, well-projected tone undiluted by excess air, as well as subtly understated dynamics and lyrical phrasing.” Nicole frequently plays flute in the Broadway show Wicked; has appeared as an extra on the show Mozart in the Jungle; and performs with a number of symphony, opera, and ballet orchestras in NY, NJ, and PA. Her private teachers have included Helen Campo, Kathleen Nester, Susan Glaser, and Bradley Garner. Nicole currently serves as the treasurer of the New York Flute Club.
