Ruth is a professional musician and pianist originally from Ireland, now based in New York.
At the age of eight she began studying piano under the renowned Áine Ní Ghabhann with whom she completed her grades through the London College of Music, before continuing on to complete a Diploma in Professional Musicianship. She began performing piano professionally at the age of seventeen before starting college in Dublin in the the British and Irish Institute of Modern Music. Here she received a BA in Music, graduating with a First Class Honours distinction in the top division of her year.
She began teaching privately in 2014 and was then worked in several music schools across Dublin after graduating. Here she gained invaluable experience tutoring students of all standards and calibre, teaching a myriad of genres including classical, contemporary and jazz.
From 2015 she held a residencies in prestigious, legacy Dublin hotels The Shelbourne and The Merrion. She has travelled to Toronto twice to perform at Canadian Music Week and has performed at a plethora of music festivals and events across Ireland including Electric Picnic, Independence and more.
