Experience:

Sharon has 24 years of teaching experience.  In the past, she has served as violin faculty at several music schools in NYC & Brooklyn, and has served as the Orchestra Director of the Andre Huddes Junior High School.
In 2004, Sharon created a group violin program, the Little People Violin House, which is based in Brooklyn.  She works with students from age 4 and above; and of all levels, beginners, experienced and advanced. Sharon has years of experiences successfully preparing students for auditions such as the Mark Twain JHS for the gifted, the LaGuardia HS for the performing Arts, college level auditions, as well as the Royal Music School Exams, grd.1-8. Sharon believes in tailoring the materials to her student’s age and needs, to bring out each individual student’s potential. She speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin fluently.

Sharon attended the Junior department of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts at the age of 12. She earned both her Bachelor and Master degrees in violin performance at Brooklyn College.  Sharon has studied with well known professors such as, Igor Ozim, Maoso Kawasaki, Kurt Sassmanshaus, Itzhak Perlman, and Mela Tenenbaum. Sharon also received extended chamber music training under the directions of Sandra Rivers, members of the Tokyo string quartet and the La Salle quartet.
Sharon has performed extensively. She has appeared as a soloist in France, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Hong Kong, as well as the United States. She has freelanced in the New York area with the Jupiter Symphony, the DaCapo Opera Company, and the Westchester Symphony.  Sharon is also active in the orchestral recording work in Patterson, N.Y.
