Bio
Having been a classically-trained, competitive pianist for fourteen years and a jazz pianist for four, Sophia has dedicated her life thus far to mastering the piano. Some of her performance achievements include being a four-time piano performer at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and a three-time runner-up of the Anne Liva Young Artists Piano Competition in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She is extremely well-versed in the classical, jazz, pop, and R&B genres. In addition to playing piano, Sophia has been a singer and a multi-instrumental percussionist for four years, which has supplemented her piano abilities by strengthening areas such as rhythm and ear-training. Through her experiences outside of the performance realm, whether tutoring college students in all levels of music theory, writing and producing original compositions, or working in the music education non-profit industry, she enjoys constantly expanding her musical skill set and sharing the joy of music with others.
