Bio

Pianist Tara Z. is recognized for her expressive musicianship and versatility as both a soloist and collaborative artist. She began studying piano at the age of six and quickly developed a deep passion for classical music.

Throughout her musical journey, Tara has received awards in numerous competitions and festivals, including the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside, the Pacific International Piano Competition, and the Virtuoso Artists Festival. She is an active performer who enjoys both solo and ensemble work and has collaborated extensively with string players and vocalists. In addition to piano, she has performed on harpsichord and celeste with the NYU Orchestra and NYU Baroque Ensemble.

Tara has appeared in venues across the United States and China, including Steinway Hall, the Iris Cantor Theatre, Benaroya Hall, the Changsha Concert Hall, and the Beijing Concert Hall of the Central Conservatory of Music. A recent highlight includes performing as one of fifty pianists in the North American premiere of 11,000 Strings by Georg Friedrich Haas at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City.

She currently studies with Eduardus Halim, the Sasha Gorodnitzki Chair in Piano Studies, and continues to build a dynamic career as both a performer and dedicated educator. She is passionate about helping students build strong technical foundations while fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
