Tiernan has taught music to children in school settings as well as privately. She is eager to pass on her knowledge of music to her students.



She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College in Music Education and is pursuing a Master of Music degree in Classical Voice from Manhattan School of Music.

Tiernan C., Soprano, is a vibrant and passionate musician committed to sharing her time and talent through performance and education. Throughout her college years she studied voice as well as obtaining a degree in music education. In Providence, R.I. she spent  her time teaching K-5 general music and choir. Additionally she has experience teaching beginner strings and piano. Tiernan recently moved to New York to pursue a Masters at the Manhattan School of Music in Classical Voice. At Manhattan School of Music she has appeared in a Russian Romance chamber ensemble recital and as a performer in the MSM Opera Outreach Program. Also in New York she has appeared in New York Lyric Opera Program’s summer performances of Die Zauberfote as “Papagena,” at the National Opera Center, and Lakme in Scenes from the opera Lakme, Gilda in scenes from the opera Rigoletto both as part of the company’s Opera Gala at Carnegie Hall. Most recently Tiernan traveled to Italy to perform the role of Gilda in Rigoletto as a part of the 20th anniversary season of La Musica Lirica – Voci nel Montefeltro. She is equally passionate about teaching and performing, and is excited to be a part of the Music To Your Home faculty of teachers.
