Teaching students at ages 9-45 and at all levels over the last 5 and a half years, Tomer has a rich experience and a rare flexibility in communicating musical materials in a lesson context.
The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music
Tomer S. was born 1994 in Tel Aviv. He currently resides in Brooklyn. Tomer is a guitarist and composer rooted in the rich jazz tradition, pushing forward towards the more holistic approach to music and sound. Having graduated with high honors from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in manhattan (2017), Tomer continues to perform and teach in the NYC area.
Picking up the guitar for the first time when he was 14, Tomer began playing professionally at age 15 and started teaching with his own unique approach at the age of 18. He attended the prestigious Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts and shortly after began studies at The Israeli Conservatory, transferring to the New School, NY two years into his studies after winning the opportunity to receiving the prestigious presidential merit-based scholarship.
