Yona has been studying voice for over 20 years. She earned her BA in Music with a concentration in vocal performance at Barnard College/Columbia University. After graduation, she performed with the Amato Opera here in NYC, where she sang several roles, including Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro. She currently sings with the Oratorio Society of New York and performs regularly at Carnegie Hall and other historic venues.
Yona believes in the blend of technique and emotional expression in vocal performance and works to convey the importance of this to her students. Her goal above all else is to share her deep love of voice with her students and help them form their own passionate musical path.
