Russian-born violinist Mariya P. shares her love of music with diverse audiences, maintaining a steady schedule of performances in chamber groups, orchestras, and as a soloist. She is a member of the string quartet Jardin, the Element Ensemble, and conductor-less string orchestra Shattered Glass. Discovering a passion for unusual, new, and non-classical works while premiering them on tour in Tuscany, Italy, Polishchuk seeks to bring an understanding of contemporary music to the masses. Recent projects include appearances in chamber music concerts with musicians such as Mikail Kopelman, Daniel Andai, Jerry Grossman, and Joel Noyes, with NYC based composer-vocalist Julie Hill in partnership with Philadelphia Ballet Company dancers, composer Cristobal Martinez Yanes, and performances at Carnegie Hall, NY and The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC as part of the Manhattan School of Music Symphony Orchestra.
