4 years teaching Violin and Viola to all ages and levels in the NYC area.
Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, MM Viola Performance, May 2008.
Brian began playing violin at age 7, adding the viola during high school. A champion of conservation, Brian’s early ambition was to advocate for the wise stewardship of the planet’s remaining natural and wild places, work he advanced during his tenure at The Nature Conservancy and NYC Parks & Recreation. Competing passions brought him back to his early love of music, this time with a focus on the viola, studying with Stephanie Griffin and completing a Masters in Performance at Brooklyn College’s Conservatory of Music in 2008. Today he recycles restlessly and freelances the rich and varied NYC music scene, actively seeking a wide range of musical experience, from the classical and operatic standards to explorations in musical theater and new music. Ever seeking opportunities to collaborate with fellow artists, he has premiered solo, chamber, and orchestral works by emerging composers. Brian is also busy with a variety of recording projects, including tracks to folk, pop and rock albums, as well as operatic, film and orchestral scores. In addition to performing, Brian is eager to share his love of music with the next generation, teaching students of all levels on both violin and viola.
