Matthew B. currently studies with Curtis Macomber. His former teachers include Solomiya Ivakhiv, Salley Koo, Julie Rosenfeld, Mark Rike, and Wendy Sharp. He has performed in master classes with Gil Shaham, Monica Huggett, and Jennifer Ross, and coached by members of the American String Quartet, Colorado String Quartet, and Leipzig String Quartet.
Matthew was previously concertmaster of the Manhattan School of Music Opera Orchestra, University of Connecticut Symphony Orchestra (2013-15), National Orchestral Institute at the University of Maryland (2016), Connecticut Music Educators Association All-State Orchestra (2010), and Greater New Haven Youth Chamber Orchestra (2009). He has soloed with the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra and the Greater New Haven Youth Orchestra.
Matthew is currently principal second of the Manhattan Symphonie. He performed fifteen concerts with the Manhattan Symphonie in China at venues including the Guangzhou Opera House and Shanghai Symphony Hall.
