- Ross has over eight years of experience teaching lessons and presenting masterclasses to students of all ages, styles and abilities.
Bio
Born and raised in Sitka, Alaska, Ross is currently living, studying and performing in New York City. He has performed with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Symphony Napa Valley and The Bay Brass. Ross has performed throughout the United States and abroad in Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Slovakia in venues such as Lincoln Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, New World Center, Smetana Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie and the Amsterdam Concertgebow. He can be heard on the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra recording of Mahler Symphony No. 1 recorded live at the Berlin Philharmonie on the San Francisco Symphony Media Label. As an orchestral musician, he has played under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, Esa Pekka-Salonen, Robert Spano and Michael Tilson Thomas. During the summers he has performed the Aspen Music Festival, Marrowstone Music Festival, Miami Summer Music Festival and the Menlo Summer Brass Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Music from Saint Mary’s College of California and is currently a second-year Master’s degree candidate at Manhattan School of Music. His teachers include Mark Gould, Adam Luftman and Roger Schmidt.
