Zane has been a committed, working musician and educator for more than ten years. In University, he studied with world-touring drummer Jeff Siegel, as well as jazz piano with Pete Tomlinson. Zane has also studied arranging, composing, and music technology, and has used his skills on recordings and studio sessions.

Even before college and moving to New York City, Zane was already considered a heavyweight in his local music scene, performing in several genres and styles including rock, hip hop, R&B, reggae, and jazz. His gigging experiences have taken him all over the U.S while working as a freelance musician on drums, bass, and guitar. He has performed with artists such as: bass phenomenon John Patitucci, former child prodigy pianist Taylor Eigsti, world-renowned guitarist John Scofield, and Winston Watson of the legendary reggae group The Meditations.
