Nora R. is a vocalist, pianist, songwriter, and educator. Nora studied Vocal Jazz at University of Massachusetts-Amherst with Catherine Jensen-Hole, concentrating on jazz repertoire and technique, eventually garnering an award from Downbeat magazine as a member of the 6-person UMass-Amherst Vocal Jazz Ensemble for “Best Collegiate Jazz Choir”.
Nora is an active performer, playing frequently around the Northeastern U.S. with her band Nightingale Jazz Band. Nora has appeared at several prestigious venues in and around the NYC area, including performances at the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center, Metropolitan Club, Lambs Club, Manderley Bar at the McKittrick Hotel, the United Nations, and more.
As an educator, Nora teaches beginner piano studies at the PS29 Piano Program in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn and teaches private voice and piano students out of her home studio. She loves to teach all styles including jazz, musical theatre, and pop.
