Claude G. began playing the Cello at age 9 in Green Meadow Waldorf School where he studied for 8 years with Julie Diesslin August. He is now in his Senior year at Suny Purchase Conservatory of Music studying with Julia Lichten. Beginning in 5th grade he toured at Universities and Highs Schools with storyteller Mark Judelso, founder of Stories of Peace, as a musical accompanist. By 8th grade he started teaching and by 9th grade had a sizeable studio. Claude left high school to compete internationally in Short Track Speedskating and always played the cello as balance for the rigorous training as he won multiple national championships and set national records. After leaving the World Junior Team to pursue music solely, Claude played in the New York Youth Chamber Program and performed often in his Community. In 2016 he starred in the Emmanuel Bach Cantata Intensive, got to play with Mark Summers of the turtle Island String Quartet at the 2016 Creative Cello Summit, and now works as a recording artist and performer in studios and venues around the Tri-State area. Claude goes to Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival every summer and has a private studio ages 9 – 65.
