Experience:
Christina has taught beginner through intermediate voice and piano lessons since 2012, and has developed a simple yet engaging way of explaining musical concepts to her students. Voice lessons focus on a classical approach to technique, with breathing, posture, ear training, and text interpretation at the forefront. Likewise, piano lessons center on a classical foundation, including posture, arm and hand position, pattern recognition, and music theory. When choosing repertoire, Christina likes to work in collaboration with her students to find pieces that are appropriate for their level, technical needs, and personal tastes. In addition to teaching privately, Christina has acted as Choral Director at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church and the PEOPLE Program, and has taught the beginning group voice class at the 2016 Madison Early Music Festival.

Christina is a classically trained soprano and pianist with experience performing everything from opera and musical theatre, to art song, concert, and choral repertoire. In the summer of 2016, she was the 2nd place prizewinner in the 2016 Handel Aria Competition, and was a soloist with the American Bach Soloists Academy in San Francisco. A recent transplant from Wisconsin, Christina has made multiple appearances with Present Music’s eight-voiced ensemble Hearing Voices, recently performing the world premiere of Christopher Cerrone’s, The Branch Will Not Break. An avid chorister, she has been a member of the Madison Choral Project for two years, most notably presenting Frank Martin’s Mass, James MacMillan’s Te Deum, Fauré’s Requiem, and a concert of contemporary works led by guest conductor maestro Dale Warland. On the opera stage, Christina has enjoyed numerous collaborations with Fresco Opera Theatre, including premiering the role of Young Clara in a new dramatic production about Clara Schumman. She has also appeared with Fresco as Gretel in a family outreach of Hansel and Gretel, and as a Mermaid-Alien in a Star Wars-themed Rinaldo. Other roles include Dalinda in Ariodante, Second Woman and First Witch in Dido and Aeneas, First Spirit in Die Zauberflöte, and Mrs. Segstrom in A Little Night Music. Since moving to New York City in August 2016, Christina has joined C4: The Composer-Conductor Collective, a group specializing in choral music of the past twenty-five years.
