Experience:
Kristina has extensive teaching experience, having taught privately as well as in classroom settings. She was a teacher for Manhattan School of Music’s outreach program, as well as for The People’s Music School of Chicago; an El-Sistema inspired program that brings music to low-income areas of Chicago. She was a counselor for Northwestern University’s National High School Music Institute, where she coached chamber ensembles and lead masterclasses for clarinet students. Her private students have gone on to win competitions, scholarships to colleges, and to hold positions with State Honors Ensembles. While Kristina specializes in orchestral music and classical repertoire, she has experience in teaching piano privately, as it was her first instrument and she has studied it her whole life.
Education:
Kristina holds a Masters Degree from Manhattan School of Music as a student of Mark Nuccio, Associate Principal clarinet of the New York Philharmonic and Principal of Houston Symphony. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern University as a student Steven Cohen, former Principal of Louisiana Philharmonic, and J. Lawrie Bloom, Bass Clarinet with Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
