Nicholas H. is an avid performer of classical music and has been featured both as a soloist and chamber musician on international stages and music festivals including Carnegie Hall, Chautauqua Music Festival, Moulin d’Ande Cultural Center in France, and the Skaneateles Music Festival. Nicholas was the first prize winner of the 2016 MTNA New York Young Artist Piano Competition and third prize winner of the 2016 East Coast International Competition. In addition, he frequently performs popular music for independent projects, collaborations, and events, including a recent performance at New York Fashion Week.
Nicholas has been fortunate to study with world-class teachers including Natalya Antonova, Arnaldo Cohen, and Deirdre O’Donohue. His masterclass performances include Menahem Pressler, Ursula Oppens, Jerome Lowenthal, André Laplante, Alexander Korsantia, Evelyne Brancart, Kathleen Supové, and Nelita True.
Nicholas has been teaching piano since 2008 and he is a member of the Piano Teachers Congress of New York. He enjoys teaching various styles of music and believes in tailoring his lessons to each student’s individual needs.
Outside of the music world, Nicholas’s interests include the arts, nature, philosophy, reading, and traveling. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
