Experience:
Owen has extensive experience in private and classroom instruction, working with students on piano, saxophone, clarinet, jazz improvisation, music theory, composition/arranging, and songwriting.
In classroom environments, he spent a year at the Manhattan New School (PS 290) teaching clarinet to 4th and 5th graders, and a year at Yorkville Community School (PS 151) teaching flute and saxophone to 4th graders. Additionally, he worked at the First Coast Community Music School’s summer program in 2008 in Jacksonville, FL as a woodwind instructor for 4th through 8th graders.
For beginning, intermediate, and advanced students, lessons are geared toward accomplishing the specific goals of each individual.

With a Bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music, Owen B. is an active performer and educator in New York City.
Owen is an active musician in New York City and has been featured as a performer with Trio Globo, comprised of Grammy award-winning musicians and the Grammy nominated, Gil Evan’s Project, and was the saxophonist and clarinetist for Grease the Musical’s German tour. Most recently, he performed with For the Last Time, a new off-Broadway jazz musical.
He leads his own projects as well — a soul band that was selected to open for the multi-Grammy award-winning, John Legend, and Cowboys and Frenchmen is a jazz quintet that often performs, featuring his own original compositions.
