Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a concentration in vocal studies from Florida Southern College
Rebekah J. is no stranger to Music. She was born to a very musical family and hails from the beautiful Cayman Islands. In 2004, Rebekah graduated from Florida Southern College earning her Bachelor’s in Music Education Degree with a concentration in vocal studies. While at Florida Southern, Rebekah had the privilege of studying classical voice under the world renowned mezzo soprano, the late Beverly Wolff.
Following earning her degree, Rebekah returned home to the Cayman Islands where she taught music in an elementary school for over 12 years–teaching general music to over 500 students per week. Rebekah also enjoyed teaching voice and piano privately during his time. Throughout her teaching career, Rebekah has prepared instrumental and vocal soloists, small ensembles, and large choirs for local competitions where they won numerous gold and silver awards. She has a deep love for musical theater and produced and directed many Jr Musicals featuring her students.
Rebekah has won numerous awards as a teacher, including her most recent accomplishment Classroom of the Month in May of 2016.
Rebekah is also an accomplished Jazz vocalist and loves to perform in her free time.
