Experience
Will works with all ages and any level of prior experience. He teaches a diverse mix of percussive subjects, including drum set (all styles), classical percussion, keyboard percussion, and world percussion/hand drumming.
Bio
Versatile percussionist Will R. is an active performer in a wide variety of genres, spanning orchestral performances, jazz, musical theater, contemporary classical music, rock/pop music, and more. He attended the Manhattan School of Music, where he was a recipient of a Presidential Scholarship and performed as a timpanist and percussionist with all of MSM’s ensembles. Will received the 2018 Interlochen Fine Arts Award, the 2019 Maddy Summer Artist Award, the 2019 Percussive Arts Society/Remo Fred Hoey Memorial Scholarship, performed with the 2022 Texas Festival Orchestra at the Round Top Festival, and won second place at the 2022 Modern Snare Drum Competition.
His teachers have included Christopher Lamb (Principal Percussion, New York Philharmonic), Duncan Patton (Principal Timpani, Metropolitan Opera), Kyle Zerna (Percussion/Timpani, New York Philharmonic), She-e Wu (Percussion Soloist), Rolando Morales-Matos (Percussion, Lion King on Broadway), Michael Folker (Percussion, Chicago Philharmonic), James Ross (Percussion, Chicago Symphony), and Jeremy Smith (World Percussionist).
