At 25 years old, David is one of the most active and exciting trumpet players in Boston and New York’s jazz scene. He was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, he was chosen to be a member of the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute. Through this program, David had the privilege of studying with some of the most accomplished and well-known jazz musicians in the world, including Wayne Shorter, Dave Liebman, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, and George Garzone. David then attended the prestigious New England Conservatory where he received his Master’s of Music in Jazz Performance.
David’s talents have sent him all over the globe to venues such as the 2011 Panama Jazz Festival and the JEN Conferences in both New Orleans and Louisville. In 2010, he traveled to Sydney, Australia, where he won first prize in the International Trumpet Guild’s Jazz Solo Competition. He has also performed at the Newport Jazz Festival, Scullers Jazz Club, Regatta Bar, NEC’s Jordan Hall, and the Berklee Performance Center.
In February 2014, David independently released Progress Report, his first full-length album as a leader and composer. This project debuts intriguing, all-original music, and David is joined by some of the finest young musicians in Boston and New York.
Starting September 2015 David will attend The Juilliard School to pursue his Artist Diploma in Jazz Studies under the direction of Wynton Marsalis.
