Experience:
As well as teaching private piano students for the past 6 years, Adam has also student taught high school big bands, and is currently a TA at Manhattan School of Music for theory and ear training.

Adam K. is a pianist/composer/teacher who has been playing since he was in elementary school. At age 21, he has performed at major venues in cities such as Chicago, New York, Los Los Angeles, Beijing, Shanghai, and Seoul. Adam has received numerous awards including the IMEA outstanding soloist award, the Downbeat Magazine award for outstanding jazz performance, and the Manhattan School of Music President’s award. Lately, Adam has been performing as a leader and sideman in numerous ensembles. Recent performances have been at New York’s Iridium and Smoke Jazz Club, Chicago’s Jazz Showcase and Velvet Lounge, and Hollywood’s Catalina’s Jazz Club featuring guest artist Bob Mintzer. He has also given masterclasses at high schools in the Chicago area and at Birch Creek Music Performance Center. In addition, Adam was one of three pianists that were selected in 2009 to perform at the 92nd Street Y of New York’s Jazz In July masterclass led by modern jazz legend Bill Charlap. Adam currently resides in New York City where he studies under jazz piano icons Jason Moran and Vijay Iyer, as well as drummer Gregg Bendian (known for his work with Pat Metheny, Ornette Coleman, and Cecil Taylor). Recently, Adam has been playing duo performances with Gregg in New York and Chicago, and will also be a member of a quartet featuring Monk Competition winner Jon Irabagon. Adam is also a faculty member at Silvermusic, and a Teacher’s Assistant in the Manhattan School of Music Theory and Ear-training departments. Adam is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.
